Electricity price forecasting in day-ahead electricity market has importance for the market participants, especially suppliers. With the accurate forecasting, supplier companies can plan their allocation of electricity production on these prices to maximize their profits. Complexity of the offer strategies from the market participants and uncertainties of the market make forecasting of market clearing price (MCP) difficult. In our project, we analyze supply-demand curves, which generate the MCPs from market participants’ offers/bids, and forecast the next day’s MCPs to provide ENKA, which is the biggest individual electricity supplier in Turkey, a decision support system on their electricity production planning.
